Pioneer healthcare in the Basque Country

To unify clinical genomics within Osakidetza, the Basque Public Healthcare Service.
Genomcore BIMS developed a platform to unify all clinical genomics.
The project enabled centralized, secure, and scalable management of genomic data across Osakidetza. It improved traceability, reduced fragmentation of genomic services, and allowed integration with clinical workflows and research use cases.
Basque Country, Spain
Osakidetza is the Public Healthcare Service of the Basque Country, recognized for its innovation in digital health. With a strong commitment to precision medicine, it pioneers genomic integration into routine care for equitable, efficient, and advanced diagnostics.
The project involved the deployment of Genomcore BIMS, a modular platform supporting the entire clinical genomics lifecycle — from raw data processing to clinical reporting. The system supports primary, secondary, and tertiary NGS analysis, integrates seamlessly with healthcare systems, and enables role-based data access. The infrastructure was scaled to all genomic units within Osakidetza, facilitating both clinical and research use. Training and custom use-case modules ensured optimal adoption and deployment across all departments.
The hospitals connected through the OSAGEN project are:

All three centers are part of the Health Research Institutes (IIS) of the Public Health System of Basque Country (Osakidetza).
