The Spanish Basketball Federation will use Made of Genes technology to optimize performance and reduce its athletes' injury risk

Made of Genes' integrated platform combines genomics, biomarkers, psychology and real-world data with explainable AI to anticipate injuries, speed up recovery and elevate the performance of elite athletes.

Through the Made of Genes platform, strength and conditioning coaches receive session-by-session load targets, medical staff get immediate alerts on critical biomarkers, and athletes can follow personalized nutrition, sleep and training actions, all through the company's customizable app.

The agreement was presented by Dr. Elena Isla, head of the FEB's Medical Department, and by Aleix Serrahima, Cofounder & CCO, and Laura Isús, Cofounder & CSO of Made of Genes, at the offices of the Spanish Basketball Federation.

Dr. Isla highlighted that the agreement "is a further step in the FEB's commitment to the health of our players, injury prevention and the optimization of their athletic performance. Incorporating this technology will give us individualized information and biomarkers to help us adjust workloads, identify potential risk factors and improve how we monitor our athletes during national team training camps. It will also allow us to keep an epidemiological record of our players, from the youth categories up to the senior national teams, with the aim of better understanding their development and building increasingly individualized prevention strategies."

Aleix Serrahima added: "Two players can do the same training and respond in completely different ways. Today, the information needed to understand that is spread across different professionals. Our platform brings it together in a single environment, connected to the systems the FEB already uses, and applies multimodal intelligence that cross-references genetics, biomarkers and load to read each player against themselves, not against an average. That way, prevention, return to play and performance all start from the same information and the same criteria. It makes us proud that the FEB trusts this approach."
