Genomcore consolidates its alliance with Osakidetza to drive precision medicine through the OSAGEN project
Genomcore reaffirms its commitment to the digital transformation of the healthcare sector by consolidating the OSAGEN project, the strategic initiative of the Basque Health Service (Osakidetza) for advanced genomic data management. The official presentation of the project recently took place during the Telefonica Health Summit, organized by Telefonica Tech. The event featured Dr. Nekane Murga, Director of Health Planning, Organization, and Evaluation at Osakidetza, and Miquel A. Bru, Co-founder and CBDO of Genomcore, who detailed the scope and significance of this collaboration.

A leading genomic repository in Europe
Within the framework of OSAGEN, Genomcore was selected to develop and deploy the global genetic variant repository. This platform enables Osakidetza to store and manage genetic alterations detected in clinical practice in a structured manner, integrating them directly into the clinical decision-making workflow.
The implementation of this repository is based on the strictest European security and privacy protocols, guaranteeing robust and scalable data governance.
Interoperability and Scalability of the National Health System (SNS)
Beyond storage, the technological solution provided by Genomcore equips the Basque Country's healthcare system with critical functional capabilities:
- Clinical Versatility: Facilitates the execution and consultation of diagnostic tests across all clinical areas of the Basque Health Service.
- National Interoperability: The system is designed to ensure connection with the National Health System's genomic node (SIGenES), allowing for seamless collaboration between different autonomous communities.
With the renewal of this agreement, Genomcore positions itself as a key technological partner in the large-scale implementation of precision medicine, demonstrating that data integrity and sovereignty are the fundamental pillars of future healthcare.
